Delete Your Data

This page explains how to delete data from Receipt Scout without deleting your account. If you want the account gone as well, see Delete Your Account.

Option 1 — Delete a receipt in the app (instant)

Open Receipt Scout and sign in.
Open the Receipts tab and tap the receipt you want to remove.
Tap the bin icon in the top-right of the receipt screen.
Confirm in the dialog by tapping “Delete”.

The receipt is removed immediately, together with its photo. You can repeat this for as many receipts as you like; your account, email address, and subscription are not affected.

Option 2 — Request a bulk deletion by email

If you want everything of one kind removed — for example all of your receipts, or just their photos — email us and we will do it for you:

Send a request from your account email to barsuck.evgeni@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my Receipt Scout data”, saying what you want removed.

We verify that the request comes from the email on the account, then carry it out. Email requests are completed within 30 days.

What you can delete on its own

Data	How
A receipt and the data extracted from it (merchant, date, total, currency, line items, category)	In the app, per receipt — see Option 1. Deleting a receipt also removes its prices from your price history, and its amounts from your statistics and budgets.
Receipt photos	Deleted from our object storage together with the receipt they belong to. To remove photos while keeping the receipt data, ask by email.
All receipts at once	By email — see Option 2.
Usage analytics events	Deleted automatically 180 days after they are recorded. To have them removed sooner, ask by email.
Family group membership	In the app: Account tab → Family group → Leave group. Your email stops being shown to the other members immediately. Your receipts are not affected.

What cannot be removed separately

Your email address and account identifier are what the account is; they can only be deleted by deleting the account itself, which is described on the Delete Your Account page. Purchase and subscription records held by the App Store, Google Play and our payments provider are also outside our control and are retained under their policies and applicable tax and accounting law.

Retention period

Deletions made in the app take effect immediately. Email-based requests are completed within 30 days. Database backups are kept for at most 90 days and are purged automatically, so deleted data can survive in a backup until then.
