Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Receipt Scout (the "App"). By using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The service

Receipt Scout lets you scan receipts, automatically extract their data, track spending, and split bills. Data extraction is automated and may contain errors; you are responsible for reviewing and correcting parsed results.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when registering.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the App, including: uploading content you have no right to, attempting to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service, or using it for unlawful purposes.

4. Subscriptions

The App offers a free tier with a monthly scan limit and optional paid plans: Pro (one person) and Family (one subscription covering up to six members). Joining someone else's family group works on any plan, including free. Subscriptions are billed through the app store and managed by our payments provider. Renewals, cancellations, and refunds are subject to the app store's rules.

5. Family groups

A family group is for people in one household. Receipts you save after joining are visible to other members as described in the Privacy Policy. Invite only people who should see that spending. The group owner pays for the Family plan; if the owner leaves or the subscription lapses, inherited premium for members ends.

6. Intellectual property

The App and its content are owned by us or our licensors. You retain rights to the receipt data and images you provide.

7. Disclaimer

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that extracted data is accurate or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
